Paul Merson suggests that Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen is better than Paul Pogba of Manchester United.
Christian Eriksen is one of the best players in the Premier League and has been in great form for Tottenham Hotspur this season.
Eriksen has scored eight goals and created 96 chances in 32 Premier League appearances for Tottenham so far this season.
During the 2015-16 campaign, the attacking midfielder scored six goals and created 114 chances in 35 league matches for Spurs.
The 25-year-old is one of the most creative players in entire Europe, and former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson has spoken highly of the Denmark international.
Merson has also compared the partnership between Dele Alli and Eriksen to that of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard at Liverpool a few years ago.
The former Arsenal attacker has also suggested that Eriksen is a better player than Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba,
Pogba joined United from Italian giants Juventus in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £89 million.
The France international midfielder has scored four goals and created 55 chances in 29 Premier League matches for United so far this season.
“One of the balls he played at Wembley when Tottenham lost to Chelsea was out of this world,” Merson wrote about Eriksen in The Daily Star. “It was the kind of pass only someone like Steven Gerrard could play.
“That’s the highest compliment I can pay him. In fact, Eriksen and Alli remind me of Gerrard and Fernando Torres at Liverpool.
“Torres only used to make his run when Gerrard had the ball, and they were deadly together. Eriksen could play for Real Madrid or Barcelona.
If Paul Pogba is worth £90m then what’s Eriksen worth? He’s a better player. I’d buy him in a heartbeat.”
