Japhet Tanganga could leave after Tottenham’s game against Chelsea on Sunday, as Dharmesh Sheth claimed on the Transfer Show on Sky Sports.
The Sky reporter shared that Tanganga has ‘concerns’ over his game time in north London when Eric Dier and Cristian Romero return from their injuries.
Serie A giants AC Milan are seemingly keen on bringing the young Spurs defender on a loan deal until the end of the season.
And it has been suggested by Sheth that Spurs are simply waiting for the likes of Romero and Dier to recover, before they can allow Tanganga to head for the exit door.
“We told you yesterday that AC Milan were interested in a loan move for Japhet Tanganga,” said Sheth.
“It’s thought Tanganga has concerns about his game time, once Eric Dier and Cristian Romero are fit again for Tottenham.
“Tottenham don’t want to let him go on loan, until at least next week. The reason for that is they want him around for tonight’s match (Leicester).
“And for Sunday’s game against Chelsea, whilst Romero and Dier recover from their respective injuries. If Romero returns and his recovery is good, only then will Spurs consider allowing Tanganga to leave. That’s one to watch.”
Tanganga might not be the only Spurs defender wanting to leave this month because Joe Rodon could claim that he is in a more difficult situation.
The former Swansea man is earning less game time than Tanganga and he has important World Cup qualifiers coming up.
Wales are in the play-offs where, if they pull through, then they will reach Qatar 2022.
But Rodon isn’t going to be much use if he continues to warm Tottenham’s bench, so if anyone needs to leave, then it’s him.
However, if both Tanganga and Rodon leave, even on loan, then it will still leave Antonio Conte short at the back, even if Ben Davies is being used in a back three.
