Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has named Douglas Luiz as a transfer target to keep an eye on when it comes to Arsenal.
The Brazilian was strongly linked with a move to the Gunners in January, but unfortunately for the London club, nothing came to fruition.
However, it seems as though their failure in January hasn’t deterred them too much, and now, Romano claims the Gunners will be back in for Luiz in the summer.
What’s been said?
Romano shared what he knows about Luiz and Arsenal.
“Arsenal need a midfielder, they wanted a midfielder in January. Also because Elneny will leave the club so they need a player in that position. Douglas Luiz is one to watch in the summer. Not only for Arsenal, they have an interest, but it’s not only Arsenal because I’m not convinced he will extend his contract with Aston Villa, so he could be a big name on the market this summer, and so, keep an eye on Douglas Luiz, not only for Arsenal, but they have his name on the list,” Romano said.

Fits the bill
Luiz certainly fits the bill of the type of signings Arsenal have been looking for as of late.
He’s young, talented and proven in the Premier League, that’s exactly the type of signing the Gunners need right now.
At the age of just 23, there is so much room for improvement with Luiz as well, and with Mikel Arteta focusing on youth, don’t be surprised if he’s brought in this summer.
