Leicester City starlet Hamza Choudhury may be on his way to Rangers this summer, but he was once on the radar of the La Liga giants.
With an afro that Marouanne Fellaini would struggle to pull off, Hamza Choudhury certainly stands out from the crowd.
Yet, it’s his feet that have been at the centre of attention in recent months with the youngster making his first steps in the professional game during a spell on loan at Burton Albion from Leicester City in 2016/17.
Choudhury started six Championship games at Burton
Recalled in January after making just 14 appearances, however, the 19-year-old midfielder may need another temporary spell to kick-start a career that promises much. And HITC sources are telling us that Rangers will be more than willing to hand Choudhury a platform to prove his potential.
The 19-year-old’s distribution may need a little work but his ability off the ball stands him out. Positionally intelligent and blessed with excellent reading of the game, Choudhury is renowned for his ball winning abilities.
And it may have been these attributes that alerted both Barcelona and Real Madrid to his talents back in 2014. The then-16-year-old was developing at a rapid rate of knots in Leicester’s academy, earning a call up to the England Under-18 side.
One-time wonderkid

It’s fair to say clubs of this stature do not scout just any fresh-faced talent. Therefore, Rangers will be hoping Choudhury shows exactly why some of Europe’s biggest clubs were chasing his signature if he rocks up at Ibrox this summer.
