Steve Evans is stamping his mark on this Leeds team but several of his predecessor’s signings are still at Elland Road.
Stuart Dallas – Hit
Of all Uwe Rosler’s signings at Leeds United, Dallas has by far been the best. The German’s experience of already working with Dallas at Brentford clearly served the pair well and the winger has added a distinct cutting edge out wide.
Chris Wood – Jury still out
If you look at Wood’s goal tally, you might think his signing has proved an undisputed success. But supporters are divided on the New Zealander. Wood offers an aerial threat yet, often, not much else. It remains to be seen whether the 24-year-old wins over his critics fully.
Jordan Botaka – Miss so far
The winger has shown glimpses at Elland Road but is yet to really kickstart his Leeds career. Even before Rosler was dismissed, he complained about Botaka’s lack of end product. With Dallas and Mustapha Carayol now in the frame for each wide berth, the Congolese forward will have to step up.
Tom Adeyemi – Jury still out
Generally more hit than miss, the 24-year-old has also shown some glimpses and has even received Evans’ backing – if he is willing to adapt his game. But Adeyemi’s impact has been far more limited than Liam Bridcutt’s, who has been at Leeds for a much shorter period of time.
Ross Turnbull – Injured
Lee Erwin – Miss so far
It was mismanagement on Rosler’s part to bring the striker to Elland Road and loan him out without even giving him a chance. But even Evans, who has seemed keen to give the youngster an opportunity, hasn’t played him all that often, with fitness also letting Erwin down.
Will Buckley – Miserable failure
Buckley is no longer at Leeds such were the Sunderland winger’s travails at Elland Road. With one goal from one game, Carayol has already outdone Buckley at United.
