Arsenal fell to defeat on Sunday night, losing 3-0 at home to Aston Villa in a truly dismal performance from the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta’s men were 1-0 down at half time through Bukayo Saka’s own goal, before Ollie Watkins bagged a second half brace for Villa.

It was another home blank for Arteta, whose attack is really struggling to not only score goals, but also create quality changes.

Nicolas Pepe may be pushing for a start, and Gabriel Martinelli can’t come back soon enough to play on the left flank, possibly allowing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to play up front.

The biggest disappointment right now is winger Willian, who was brought in on a free transfer from rivals Chelsea in what seemed like a gamble on a three-year deal.

The one thing Arsenal fans expected was creativity from the veteran; he may not be at his peak anymore, but he at least showed last season that he was still creative with 76 key passes.

Only James Maddison, Emiliano Buendia, Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne record more, and Willian managed seven key passes in one game against Arsenal back in December 2019.

However, Willian has managed just eight key passes in seven games this season. From seven in one game against Arsenal to eight in 517 minutes for the Gunners, Willian is letting himself down this season.

The 32-year-old isn’t providing Arsenal with that creativity right now, and if anything sums up his disappointing start to life at the Emirates Stadium, it’s his diminishing creative powers since switched blue for red.
