Liverpool lost against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Former Manchester United and Everton star Phil Neville has praised Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on Twitter despite the defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Liverpool suffered a 2-1 defeat to Championship club Wolves at Anfield in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Richard Stearman put the visitors in the lead in the very first minute, and Andreas Weimann added the second on 41 minutes.

Divock Origi scored for the Reds in the 86th minute, but Wolves held on to register the win and progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Liverpool manager Klopp did not field his strongest starting lineup, with the likes of James Milner and Philippe Coutinho left on the substitutes’ bench.

Former Everton star Neville, who now works as a pundit, has praised Klopp on Twitter for showing faith in young players.

Alan Shearer poses during the unveiling

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer, though, has stated on Twitter that he has no sympathy for Liverpool.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, hosts Liverpool had 79% of the possession, took 20 shots of which five were on target, and earned seven corners, according to BBC Sport.
