The Aston Villa boss will be keen to bring some new faces to the club this month.
Villa boss Steve Bruce addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s third round FA cup clash with Peterborough tomorrow, and provided a transfer update, discussing the potential of ins and outs a the club this month, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Villans currently sit in fifth position in the Championship table, five points adrift of the automatic promotion spots, and despite their recent resurgence, it is evidently clear that Bruce needs to add some genuine quality to his squad, if his side are to go on and achieve promotion back to the Premier League.
The problem for the west Midlands outfit is that finances are tight, due to FFP regulations, so Bruce will have to be thrifty in his recruitment.

The 57-year-old spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference today, and opened up on the potential of his side signing any players during the January transfer window, as quoted by AVFC.co.uk:
“There’s nothing yet, but one or two things are bubbling. I think it’ll be more towards the end of January. It’s difficult to loan players right now, but two or three weeks changes things when players move around. We have to be patient, but there are one or two bubbling along.”
Whilst Bruce wasn’t specific with which players he wants to bring to Villa Park, it is obvious that he is actively looking to strengthen his squad, and if he manages to add some genuine quality to his ranks this month, his side will stand a great chance of finishing inside the top two.
