Chris Sutton has slammed Cody Gakpo for his dive during Liverpool’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday and how it is ‘one of the worst I have seen’.
The former Premier League striker dubbed Cody Gakpo a ‘Dutch diver’ after he went to ground easily following a challenge from his fellow countryman, Nathan Ake.
Even Jamie Carragher admitted that Gakpo went down too easily, with the on-field referee not buying the player’s actions and nothing coming of that incident.

Of course, this is what infuriates fans because, if players act in that manner, then they want actions from officials, but more than likely, their cards stay in their pockets.
Many players across the Premier League do it, Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy proved in years gone by that he is a master at it, whilst Jack Grealish isn’t far from those types of antics either.
But whilst Grealish was producing a Man of the Match display at the Etihad against the Reds, their £35 million star (Sky Sports) was coming under fire by Chris Sutton, as he told 606 on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
“We are going to keep calling all you divers out,” said Sutton. “But the winner of this week’s simulation game, the player of the award you don’t want to win, is Cody Gakpo.
“Come on! Stop it! Dutch diver. That was one of the worst I have seen. He is better than that – Cody Gakpo, you are a good player, but just stop it because we will carry on calling you out.”

LIVERPOOL’S PROBLEMS CONTINUE
Sitting eighth in the Premier League table with Champions League football slipping away from them, if those on Merseyside think they have had it bad, then they need to look to West London.
Chelsea, despite spending half a billion during these past two transfer windows, are sitting 11th in the Premier League table and ended up sacking Graham Potter after their 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.
Liverpool have a chance to pile more misery on the managerless club on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge, but given their form away from home, it would just be their luck that they end up losing and looking over their shoulders at the teams behind them.
