Ale Moreno has stated that Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella would make Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool ‘better’ as a team and a club if he joins them this summer.

After securing the transfer of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, there is now talk that Liverpool want to further enhance their midfield, this time with some attacking bite.

Nicolo Barella is a wanted man in the Premier League, and amid talk of a move to Anfield, Moreno thinks that he is ‘one of the premium midfielders in the world’, as he told ESPN.

Thiago Alcantara is the creative mind in the middle of the park for the team, but he has struggled with injury and form during the past 12 months.

A player like Barella, without the ball, would suit the Reds a lot more because of his aggressive nature and ability to win the ball back.

He is a typical Klopp type of midfielder, as ESPN pundit Moreno backed the 26-year-old from making a switch from Inter to Liverpool.

“You asked the question of Sandro Tonali,” said Moreno. “Would he make Newcastle better?

“There is no question, no matter what team Nicolo Barella ends up in, he is going to make that team better. I really think this is one of the premium midfielders in the world right now.

“The personality, the presence and the talent that he brings to any club, he is going to make that club better and he’s going to make that team better.”

Barella would be an outstanding signing

If you imagine Mac Allister and Barella in the same midfield, added with a defensive brain, whether that’s Fabinho, Moises Caicedo or somebody else, then it really brings the spice back to Liverpool’s team.

But the issue facing the Merseyside club, as per with FSG, is the transfer cost of the Inter star.

All the Serie A giants have to is add an inflated price on Barella and a club like Liverpool would walk away, which is what frustrates fans.
