Speaking on Tottenham Hotspur’s YouTube channel, Sporting Director Fabio Paratici has been waxing-lyrical about new signing Pape Matar Sarr.
The midfielder was brought in this summer, and while he was immediately loaned back to Metz, Spurs have high hopes for the youngster.
Indeed, Paratici says that Sarr is one of the most talented young players in the whole of Europe.
What’s been said?
Paratici answered after he was asked about the long-term vision for Sarr.
“Pape is one of the most talented in Europe,” The Italian said.
“Our job is not to look just at tomorrow, but maybe also past tomorrow or next year. This is our job, and I think we made a really good signing. In all of Europe they speak about this, a lot of teams were interested. A lot of teams were there to sign him, so we made a very good signing. He needs experience, he needs to play games, to stay in one team and play regularly. It was a great investment for the club, and a great vision for the future.”
So exciting
Tottenham already have enough incredible young talent coming through with the likes of Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon and Dane Scarlett, but it looks as though you can add Sarr to that list.
Spurs have done a brilliant job of building for the future this summer with Cristian Romero and Bryan Gil both being in their early 20s, but if Paratici is right, Sarr could be the best of the bunch, and he’s only 18.
Sarr is certainly a player to keep an eye on in the coming years.
