Leeds United loanee Tyler Roberts has posted on Instagram that being ruled out of the 2022 World Cup for Wales because of injury is ‘one of the hardest things I had to hear’.
The 23-year-old, who is on-loan at QPR, was set to be called up by Rob Page for Wales’ first World Cup campaign since 1958.
But a recent injury during QPR’s 2-0 defeat to Birmingham City last month has meant that he is going to miss Wales’ showpiece event and he issued this response on social media.
ROBERTS’ CHANCE WILL COME AGAIN
Many players are facing the dreaded news that they won’t be going to the World Cup and it’s perhaps much harder for those missing out because of injury.
England right-back Reece James has just been given that news, but just like Roberts, the duo will have their chance again.
At the age of 23, Roberts has all the talent in the world to be repping his country on the biggest stage of them all in years to come.

But for now, he has to watch on from afar as Wales, who are in the same group as Gareth Southgate’s England, try to cause an upset.
England will be favourites to progress, but with USA and Iran the other two in the group, the Welsh, led by Gareth Bale, will be backing themselves to reach the knockout stages.
It’s all about their opening game against the USA on November 21, if they win that, then they have every chance of creating history.
