Arsenal and Newcastle United have missed out on Tanguy Kouassi with Bayern Munich confirming the signing of ‘one of the greatest prospects in Europe’, as reported via the Bundesliga champions’ official website.

PSG’s loss is most certainly Bayern’s game.

While Kingsley Coman has blossomed into one of the most electrifying forwards in world football at the Allianz Arena, a one-time Paris Saint-Germain prospect has now been joined by another at the beasts of Bavaria.

FC Hollywood have one more budding young thespian stepping onto their hallowed stage, with Kouassi joining on a free after refusing to sign a new contract with the dominant force of French football.

Arsenal and Newcastle had both made offers for the teenage centre-back, according to Le10 Sport in May, though the chance to join a growing French revolution in Germany was too good to turn down.

“We’re very happy to bring Tanguy Kouassi to Bayern. In our eyes, he’s one of the greatest prospects in Europe,” says sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic after pulling off yet another transfer market coup.

“His best position is at centre-back but he can play in a number of positions. We’re sure he’ll have a great career with us and is a real reinforcement.”

While Salihamidzic might be thrilled to win the race for a young man who had caught the eye of almost every mega-club on the continent, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has been left distraught by the departure of a man who had forced his way into the Parisien’s starting XI since the turn of the year.

“I’m sorry because it’s been a pleasure to work with him. It’s different because it’s no secret, I wanted to keep him with us,” Tuchel admitted to Goal last week.

“I can’t understand and I’m sad.”

Arsenal and Newcastle might be feeling a little ‘sad’ too with the i’s dotted and the t’s crossed on Kouassi’s Bayern contract.
