Tim Sherwood told Amazon Prime that it’s ‘one of the easiest jobs’ to recruit for Leeds because of their obvious style and he could even ‘scout’ for Marcelo Bielsa.

The outspoken TV pundit was initially asked whether Leeds could follow Aston Villa’s path by staying up, recruiting well and then being in the position Dean Smith’s men find themselves in now.

Villa are sitting fifth in the Premier League table, with Leeds in the bottom half, but they have still made a strong start to life back in the big time and have taken a number of teams apart.

Sherwood claimed that Leeds ‘could’ follow in Villa’s path next season, but he doesn’t think a coach like Bielsa like to have a big turnover of players like those in the Midlands have had since their promotion.

“I think Villa are chalk and cheese from the team that stayed up last season,” said Sherwood. “Brilliant recruitment what Villa have made.

“I think Leeds could do that. The only thing I would say about Bielsa’s team are his turnover of players isn’t quite a lot because the intensity it is there and it’s very demanding all the time.

“Sometimes he likes to turnover his players but it is one of the easiest jobs ever because he plays with an identity, I can scout for him and I could tell you the players that could fit into his formation.”

Both Leeds and Villa are playing some of the most exciting football in the league this season.

Only a couple of seasons ago, they were locking horns in England’s second-tier, as the fallen giants of English football are now back on their feet.

The Premier League needs clubs the size of Leeds and Villa not just competing at the top level, but challenging for those big honours and shaking the apple cart which has had the same faces in charge of it for far too long.
