Leeds United are set to be busy in the summer transfer window, but they could be without one first-teamer at the beginning of next season.

Indeed, it has been reported that Ezgjan Alioski has rejected the chance to sign a new deal to keep him at Elland Road, potentially signalling his exit at the end of the season when his contract is up.

Of course, when a player leaves, you need to find a way to replace them, and luckily for Leeds, they seem to have a player in Alioski’s mould already at the club.

Indeed, Leif Davis could be Alioski’s perfect successor.

The youngster appears to be a very talented player. After all, you don’t catch the eye of Liverpool if you’re not a top talent, and Kalvin Phillips has praised him in the past.

“One of the players we haven’t seen much of yet, but we will get to see is, in the future definitely, Leif Davis.” Phillips said on the Leeds That podcast (via LeedsLive).

“He’s that good of a player. If he just settled down a little bit and screwed his head on a little bit he’d be up there as one of the best left-backs, left midfielders, centre-halves we’ve got.”

Someone who can play at left-back and on the left side of midfield is exactly what Leeds need if Alioski is going, and Phillips reckons Davis is that man.

The fact that he’s been compared to Gareth Bale in the past simply shows how good he is, and Stuart Dallas has previously raved about his pace.

“He might be the quickest you know, Leif. Leif is quick yeah, very quick,” Dallas said about Davis last year.

Alioski will clearly be a big miss if he goes, he’s a versatile player who puts in 100 per cent effort every time he steps onto the pitch, but Leeds seemingly have a player who can step up in his absence at the club, and that man is Leif Davis.
