Tim Sherwood says Martin Odegaard is ‘one of the best’ midfielders in the Premier League after Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against West Ham United on Sunday at the London Stadium.
After ten minutes, Mikel Arteta’s side were in dreamland because they were 2-0 up against the relegation-threatened Hammers.
Martin Odegaard volleyed the ball into the back of the net in a controlled manner after a brilliantly-weighted cross from Gabriel Martinelli.

At that time, Arsenal fans would have been jumping with joy because it was just a case of controlling the game and the points were in the bag.
But, just like at Anfield, they shot themselves in the foot again and dropped more points in their quest to win the Premier League title.
Despite all of that, Tim Sherwood is a big fan of the man with the captain’s armband, as he told Premier League Productions (16/04/23 at 9:15 pm).
“Odegaard takes care,” said Sherwood. “Look at the concentration here. It’s all about technique there.
“He is one of the best midfield players in the Premier League. He is top-draw. Leadership qualities. He has the armband there now.
“He watches this all the way. His concentration and technique is brilliant.”

ODEGAARD RISING
After a six-month loan spell, Odegaard, who was on the books of Real Madrid as a teenager, secured a £30 million transfer to the Emirates in 2021 (Sky Sports).
It has taken the Norway international time to warm up, but he has become an incredible footballer for Arsenal in the Premier League.
He is still going strong, but it’s even more impressive given the fact that he was a much-talked-about wonderkid, and all of that comes with its expectations and pressure.
