According to Il Matino, Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs on the trail of Luciano Spalletti as Antonio Conte’s future in north London continues to be called into question.
Indeed, rumours about Conte’s potential departure have been non-stop in recent months, and now, Spurs are reportedly looking at Spalletti if Conte goes.
Interestingly, these two managers know each other well having spent plenty of time as rivals in Serie A.
Conte said back in 2017 that he considers Spalletti as a close friend, stating that he thinks that he’s one of the best managers around.

The Spurs boss spoke about his potential replacement back in 2017 when he was hired by Inter.
“I think the Nerazzurri have taken one of the best coaches in the market. Luciano is a friend and a great manager: having him at Inter is an added value. I have seen that owners are very solid and are trying to build something important for the present and for the future, that’s why I’m happy for Luciano. I look forward to seeing him on Saturday,” Conte said.

You don’t earn this sort of praise from Conte unless you have something about you, and it’s fair to say that Spalletti fits that bill.
His current Napoli team is one of the most exciting and successful teams in Europe this season, and if he brings that same element of style and attacking intent to Spurs, he will be a hit in north London.
Of course, it remains to be seen if Spalletti does actually go to Spurs, but if Tottenham do land the Napoli boss, they’ll be getting a top class operator.
