Jamie Carragher stated that Trent Alexander-Arnold has ‘one of the best right foots in world football’ after he helped Liverpool beat Atletico Madrid 2-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday night, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (03/11/21 at 10:00 pm).
There was a pretty hostile build-up to this Champions League tie, stemming from the fact that both managers didn’t shake hands after Liverpool beat them in Spain.
Well, surprise, surprise, the same happened again after the full-time whistle, with Diego Simeone being true to his words and not presenting himself for a handshake at full-time.
Either way, it was Jurgen Klopp and his free-scoring side that got the last laugh, as the Reds progressed through to the last-16.
After the game, this is what Carragher had to say about Alexander-Arnold, who secured two assists inside 20 minutes.
“It was a tough start to the game really,” said Carragher. “Atletico put Liverpool under pressure.
“But that man there Trent Alexander Arnold, I mean, one of the best right foots in world football. It’s Jota who gets the goal.
“This (second goal) isn’t so much of an assist, but he will get the assist. Trent, he’s trying to have a cross-shot. And it’s a really good finish (from Mane) to let it roll it across onto the left foot.”

Perhaps one assist was more fortunate than the other, but when you have the quality that Alexander-Arnold has at his feet, then you deserve the luck.
Not many players can stand up to the boyhood Red and claim to be the best right-back in the world.
Alexander-Arnold probably stands above all and he is showing that in his performances this season.
Therefore, it is baffling why he isn’t a regular for England and has previously been left out of Gareth Southgate’s squad.
Or more recently, been played in the middle of the park, when he can instead provide his attacking magic from that right flank.
