Jason Tindall has been singing the praises of Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin.
Newcastle got the Eddie Howe era underway in entertaining fashion on Saturday – even if the 43-year-old was absent after testing positive for the coronavirus.
The Magpies drew 3-3 at home to Brentford and it was Saint-Maximin who grabbed an equaliser for Howe’s side in the final quarter.
Saint-Maximin is tipped to be a big player under the newly-appointed Newcastle coach and going by Saturday’s performanace, he will be.
Tindall, Howe’s assistant, did the post-match media duties.
And the former Bournemouth coach gushed over the French attacker – who earns £38,000 per week on Tyneside – and claimed he’s among the best dribblers he’s ever seen.
He told Newcastle’s official website: “We know what quality Allan’s got. He’s one of the best dribblers I’ve ever seen during my time in football.
“He can make a real difference. He put Brentford on the back foot everytime he got the ball. We know how important Maxi’s going to be for us throughout the season.”
Invaluable
Saturday’s clash was an explosive one but Newcastle remain winless from 12 Premier League games.
Even worse, now they’re rock bottom of the table.
If Howe is going to keep them up, Saint-Maximin has a massive role to play.
He is United’s most talented player by a country mile and if he can find a bit of consistency, it could be absolutely invaluable for the St James’s Park club.
