Liverpool would become even more frightening if they strengthened their Premier League-winning backline with Napoli’s £90 million superstar Kalidou Koulibaly, Netherlands legend Ruud Krol has told Taca La Marca.
If Virgil van Dijk is the finest centre-half on planet earth today, then the Senegalese powerhouse is not far behind.
In fact, Koulibaly actually outshone the flying Dutchman during a Champions League clash at Anfield last year, dominating Jurgen Klopp’s oft-unstoppable frontline with his brilliant positional sense and fearsome power.
If reports are to be believed, the Serie A stopper could be heading to Anfield to form a generation-defining partnership with Van Dijk under Jurgen Klopp (Le10 Sport).
Liverpool have lost just two games, while conceding a measly 26 goals in the Premier League this season.
And if Koulibaly does swap Naples for Merseyside, even the greatest strikers in the game will be travelling to Anfield with their heart in their mouths.

“Koulibaly is one of the best around. He has many offers and, if Liverpool could reach the right amount, with this signing the English club would get stronger,” Krol, an 83-time Dutch international who represented Napoli from 1980 to 1984, says in quotes translated by I am Naples.
“Personally, I really like the Senegalese centre-back. Napoli would lose a great defender, but surely they would know how to replace him.”
With the likes of Gabriel Magalhaes and Jean-Clair Todibo linked with a move to the Stadio San Paolo recently, it seems that Napoli are preparing for a worst-case scenario.
Klopp has played down the prospect of big-money signings during a period of unprecedented financial uncertainty but, if Napoli are listening to offers for Koulibaly, this could be an opportunity too good to be missed.
