Ben Foster has raved about Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and stated that he is ‘one of the best’ in the Premier League, as he told his Cycling GK YouTube channel.

The Watford man uploaded footage of behind-the-scenes action of his side’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal last Sunday, where he told Ramsdale after the game that he is a ‘proper’ player.

Whilst Ramsdale secured a clean sheet during the match, it was also an outstanding game for Foster in between the sticks, including saving Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s first-half penalty.

In truth, if it wasn’t for the 38-year-old, then it could have been a lot more for the Gunners.

Nonetheless, this is what Foster told Ramsdale as the duo stood on the side of the Emirates pitch after the weekend’s game.

“The guy who I think is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League,” said Foster. “This guy doesn’t mess around.

“He’s proper. He comes out for crosses. He kicks it like a legend and makes massive saves.”

Ramsdale’s stock is just continuing to rise and many people now have egg on their face after being critical of him in the summer.

When the England international was purchased for big bucks by Mikel Arteta, it was met with dissatisfaction by some quarters of the Arsenal fanbase.

The fact that Ramsdale had been relegated in back-to-back seasons – for Bournemouth and Sheffield United – didn’t help his cause and was used against his qualities.

But those knockout blows he has received, he is now getting back up from and proving that he is a much, much better player as a result of it.
