Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has claimed that his England international teammate Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in world football.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, the 26-year-old fullback was full of praise for the Three Lions skipper after Kane bagged his 49th international goal for England, equalling Sir Bobby Charlton’s goalscoring record for the country.

Kane has seen his form pick up in recent weeks after a season to forget for the Tottenham star’s standards, with the 28-year-old now on 22 goals in all competitions this campaign under Antonio Conte.

With the season approaching its finale, Kane’s form will be key for Tottenham securing for top-four, and for Shaw, the England star is back to his best as one of the top strikers in world football as the Three Lions take on the Ivory Coast this week.

The £27m United star said on Kane: “For me at the moment, the way he’s playing, he’s one of the best strikers in the world, probably the best. So hopefully you can keep that form up, keep it going.

Shaw added on in his international teammate: “He’s showing it week in week out at the moment and it’s a joy to watch. Long may that continue and I’m sure he will be hunting another Golden Boot and all the other records.”

This season has largely seen Kane play well below his standards for both club and country, yet now we are seeing the Tottenham striker at his absolute best, with the forward bagging 11 goals in 2022 alone for the north London club.

Indeed, with Kane now firing on all cylinders, the striker is in the best form needed if Tottenham are to beat the likes of United and Arsenal for that lucrative fourth spot in the Premier League, and his performances will translate into key displays for England as well.
