Speaking on the Last Word on Spurs, Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas has been discussing Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer plans and Anthony Gordon.

The English winger was reportedly on Spurs’ radar in the summer, but Everton managed to keep hold of the attacker despite strong interest from both Tottenham and Chelsea.

According to Thomas though, Spurs’ interest in this young man hasn’t subsided whatsoever.

In fact, the journalist says that Gordon is genuinely one of Fabio Paratici’s favourite players in the Premier League, stating that the club really like the 21-year-old.

Paratici loves Gordon

Thomas shared what he knows about Gordon and Spurs.

“Well an attacking player is certainly something they want. They were trying for other players in the summer and didn’t get them. The obvious one I reported on at the time was Anthony Gordon. He’s still a player Spurs really really like a lot. I hear Paratici really, really loves him. He’s one of his favourite players in the Premier League that they don’t have,” Thomas said.

“The problem is that his valuation hasn’t dropped really. His form hasn’t been as good as it was last year. It’s difficult to see Anthony Gordon coming in this window. We need to see how the rest of the window plays out for him.”

If Everton go down

This one could get very, very interesting if Everton do end up being relegated.

Make no mistake about it, the Toffees are in that scrap this season, and with Wolves improving massively under Julen Lopetegui alongside Nottingham Forest’s upturn in form, the Merseyside club will be seriously worried about going down.

If Everton do fail to beat the drop, there will be a fire sale at Goodison Park, and if Gordon’s price drops, don’t be surprised if Spurs barge their way to the front of that queue.

Gordon could well end up in north London one day.
