It was just back on February 5 that Cameroon clinched the African Nations Cup, beating Egypt 2-1 in the final.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Clinton N’Jie was the sole Premier League player in the squad, although was an unused substitue as they lifted the trophy.
N’Jie played in the earlier rounds but lost his place, a similar tale to his Marseille spell since returning to the club where is on loan for the season.

He was thrust into a role up front due to injury, but has been a bit part player as a substitute after failing to impress.
Now he has learned he has been dropped by Cameroon for their upcoming friendly fixtures, French website Foot Sur-7 reports.
N’Jie was simply not selected for the squad, and was the only notable omission among their AFCON tournament heroes.
At the weekend he was a substitute against Lille, coming on for the final 31 minutes. He managed just 11 touches and could not make an impact in the 0-0 draw.
