It is time Serge Aurier got a chance for Tottenham Hotspur.

Kieran Trippier’s defending for Tottenham for Riyad Mahrez’s early goal last night wasn’t just bad, it was embarrassing.
The right-back was outdone by Raheem Sterling and appeared to give up on chasing him down after the City winger had sauntered past him.
Trippier struggled badly against City last season, and whether it was a mental worry, or he is just jaded from the World Cup, his defending was below the standard Tottenham expect from their first choice right-back.
Fortunately Tottenham have the solution already, Serge Aurier.
Aurier has remarkably only made one league start this season for Spurs. This was on the opening day of the season on Aiugust 8.
Since then the Ivorian has been snubbed in a big way by manager Mauricio Pochettino, astounding considering that he was able to rest up all summer and Trippier could not.

Last night demonstrated that it’s time for Pochettino to redress the balance, which has been overly favoured towards Trippier.
Trippier’s performance showed a nervous defender, one who is shy of his confident World Cup form.
Aurier needs a run of games to prove his worth, and provide Trippier with a much needed rest.
