Celtic needed to find a successor to Craig Gordon.

Celtic’s defensive problems have been well documented in recent weeks, with Dedryck Boyata’s self imposed absence highlighting their lack of options.
Jack Hendry has been disappointing, while Marvin Compper is rarely seen.
But their defensive troubles overshadow worries over goalkeeper Craig Gordon, one transfer issue the club appear to have successfully addressed this summer by signing Scott Bain.
Gordon was involved in a mix up for Suduva’s goal for Lithuania against Celtic last night in their Europa League tie, a 1-1 draw.
The 35-year-old has been enjoying a new lease of life at Celtic since re-signing, after injury troubles drove him to the brink of retirement.
Celtic can keep him, and they will still be able to achieve their domestic objectives, but his time at the club is surely limited.

Brendan Rodgers needed to find a successor before it is too late, and they did this earlier this summer by making Scott Bain’s move permanent, on a four-year deal.
Bain is just 26, and made more than 100 appearances for Dundee, even earning a call up to the Scotland squad earlier this year.
If Gordon cannot command his defence, and allows errors to creep into his game and lets standards slip, Bain could end up replacing him sooner rather than later, and become Celtic’s number one before the season is over.
