Gary Lineker has raved about Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder James Maddison on Twitter.

The BBC Match of the Day presenter was impressed by how James Maddison played for Tottenham Hotspur against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The former Tottenham striker thinks that Maddison is a superb player.

The 26-year-old playmaker joined Tottenham from another of Lineker’s former clubs, Leicester City, in the summer transfer window.

The England international attacking midfielder has made 166 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

Maddison has scored 44 goals and given 34 assists in those games.

Maddison is one of the best English playmakers around, and he has made a really strong start to life at Tottenham.

Spurs are flying in the Premier League at the moment, and one of the big reasons behind that is the form and performances of Maddison.

In Maddison, Tottenham have finally found a suitable replacement for Christian Eriksen.

Spurs are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

For the North London club to be successful in that quest, Tottenham need Maddison on top of his game throughout.
