Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn has been linked with a move to Leeds United.

Leeds United’s run of just three points in the last five games of the season saw them miss out on a play-off place, meaning manager Garry Monk will be looking for new signings this summer.
Monk must resolve his own future first, with his contract situation still up in the air, but a top priority for Leeds and Monk should be to bring in more attacking firepower this summer.
Chris Wood hit 27 goals in the Championship, but Leeds’ next-highest goalscorers were Kyle Bartley, Pablo Hernandez and Souleymane Doukara with just six goals each.
Bringing in a player to help take some of the burden off Wood is vital to Leeds’ summer transfer window, and the Daily Mail recently reported that the Whites are interested in Rangers attacker Martyn Waghorn – but that may not be the answer to Leeds’ problems.

Waghorn, 27, hit 28 goals in all competitions for Rangers last season, but he has struggled to replicate that form in the top flight of Scottish football, notching just six league goals.
On Sunday, Waghorn was substituted in favour of defender Clint Hill after just 53 minutes as Rangers chased goals to beat Partick Thistle, with Pedro Caixinha seemingly feeling that Waghorn – who has now scored just once in his last nine games – wasn’t contributing enough.

Waghorn was criticised by Rangers fans after the game, with many wanting him to be sold this summer, and that should be a major warning to Leeds regarding their alleged interest in the striker.
Waghorn’s last five Championship seasons have seen him score a combined 20 goals, and that isn’t the sort of record Leeds should be looking for this summer, whilst his six league goals and poor form with Rangers this season mean that Monk should be aiming a little higher in the transfer market.
