Keith Downie has shared that Newcastle United could conclude two more transfers once Alexander Isak’s transfer is signed, sealed and delivered, as he told Sky Sports News.
Just over a week remains before next week’s deadline and Downie thinks another forward on top of Isak and a midfielder could be added to Eddie Howe’s squad.
Once Isak’s move from Real Sociedad is confirmed, then it is expected to be a club-record transfer of £58 million – it will surpass the £40 million paid for Joelinton.

It will be interesting to see how much money Newcastle are willing to splash from then on because Watford’s versatile forward, Joao Pedro has also been mentioned.
In terms of midfielders, there are enough options to pick from for Howe, but Jonjo Shelvey is injured, and with five subs this season, that extra depth might prove to be so important.
Either way, Sky reporter and Newcastle transfer expert Downie had some exciting news that more is yet to come for the club once Isak has signed.
“If you asked me yesterday, I would have said that I expected Newcastle to bring in a forward and potentially a midfield replacement because Jonjo Shelvey is out for a few months,” said Downie.
“I do think they are looking in that midfield area. I think the priority was to bring in a forward or a striker. I would say once Isak arrives, there is still potential to bring in another forward. Someone who can play off the side as well, as a winger or as a central striker.
“I do think they are looking for options in that area. Of course, we have been reporting that Newcastle are in for Joao Pedro of Watford – I do think they will be looking to bring in one more or two (after Isak) before the closure of the window next Thursday night.”

CAN NEWCASTLE REACH EUROPE?
It has been a positive and unbeaten start for the Magpies to the new Premier League season – carrying on from their strong form from last season.
The long-term aim is pretty simple, playing regular Champions League football and putting trophies into the cabinet.
But could a possible European finish be secured this season? Well, the signs suggest that they have every chance and the transfer market might just make others sit up and take notice even further.
This Isak deal is an example of that because whilst the Toon Army faithful would be worried by Callum Wilson’s injury, they don’t have to anymore because Isak will be able to be a strong replacement.
