Leeds United have made many impressive moves under Victor Orta, but his first summer at the club was pretty unimpressive.
The likes of Pawel Cibicki, Jay-Roy Grot, Felix Wiedwald and Caleb Ekuban were flops, and the same goes for January additions Yosuke Ideguchi and Laurens De Bock.
Whilst those players are featuring elsewhere right now, one player remains in the shadows at Elland Road, and is somewhat wasting his career with Leeds.
Orta swooped to sign Ouasim Bouy on a free transfer from Juventus in 2017, loaning him straight out to Cultural Leonesa, where he played just four games.
Bouy enjoyed a better time at PEC Zwolle as he played 20 games in the 2018-19 season, but hasn’t played a single game of senior football since returning to Leeds that summer.
That’s now almost 18 months sat around at Leeds, and at 27, he has become the forgotten man at Elland Road, with seemingly no way back.
Agent Mino Raiola was quoted by Goal in 2013 as saying that he thought Bouy was just as talented as Paul Pogba, branding him a ‘phenomenal’ talent after arriving from Ajax.
Bouy has ended up being a long, long way from Pogba’s level of ability, and given that he is out of contract at the end of the season, his time at Leeds – which has been entirely forgettable – is coming to an end.
