Spurs given approval

A year ago today and Tottenham were given approval to go ahead with their plans to build a new football stadium.

Cook going nowhere

Leeds United midfielder Lewis Cook stated he was not thinking about a move away from Elland Road.

He told Sky Sports:

“I’m playing my football at Leeds at the moment so I’m enjoying my time here.

“I just try not to read anything. Nothing’s happened so I can’t really comment on it, I’m just enjoying playing for Leeds.

“It’s great for me [to be playing in the Championship] personally. It’s much better than playing in the U21s somewhere.

“Playing a lot of games in the Championship at a really intense level is competitive, really good for me, and can improve you as a player.”

Of course, one year later, and Cook is no longer at Leeds.

He joined Bournemouth in the summer but has struggled at the club and is currently out with an ankle ligament injury.

Villa upheaval

It was all kicking off at Aston Villa.

Then manager Remi Garde admitted that Charles N’Zogbia’s career at the club was over after he failed to impress his countryman with his effort for the club, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Garde also commented on a disagreement with Gabriel Agbonlahor – who went on to fall out of favour at the club.

A year later and Agbonlahor has recently worked his way back into the Villa first-team.

N’Zogbia meanwhile remains a free agent and may never play again, after the discovery of a heart condition during a medical with Nantes.
