Leeds United were interested in signing the defender from Brighton.

On this day one year ago HITC reported on the interest from Leeds United in Brighton defender Rob Hunt. The right-back was impressing during a loan spell at Oldham Athletic in League One and both Leeds and Premier League side Bournemouth were said keen on his potential signature.
But Leeds underwent a major reshuffle at the end of last season and no deal for Hunt ever went through. Instead, the young defender turned his temporary stay at Oldham into a permanent one.
So should Leeds be kicking themselves?

They certainly could have done with another right-back this season. Luke Ayling’s injury became a major issue for the club and with Gaetano Berardi often covering at left-back this season Leeds have generally been lacking at the back.
Hunt has been a regular for Oldham this season as they battle for survival in League One. At present they sit in the fourth relegation spot but Hunt has only played two games in 2018. He suffered a hamstring injury the first week of January and is only now set to return to action.
Leeds would have had a good talent on their hands in Hunt but, they are hardly missing out.
His injury and Oldham’s poor league position do not suggest Leeds should be kicking themselves too hard over this missed transfer opportunity.
