On this day one year ago Leeds United handed a contract to a young player with an absolutely outstanding name.

On the 30th September 2015 Leeds United announced that they had agreed a two-year deal with talented midfielder Ronaldo Vieira.

He was just 17-years-old at the time and spoke to the Yorkshire Evening Post following his move to Elland Road.

He had this to say on a momentous day:

“I’ve been training with Leeds United for a few months now, so it’s great to finally be offered a scholarship,” he said. “A big thank you to the i2i Sports Agency who have helped to make this happen!”

He joined up with Leeds from the i2i Football Academy and signed after training with the club for a number of months. trial.

In the 12 months since, he has certainly come on leaps and bounds.

The former Benfica talent made his debut for Leeds on the final game of last season and in the summer he became heavily involved with the Leeds first-team.

He has clearly caught the eye of new Leeds boss Garry Monk and has become an integral part of the Leeds first-team set-up.

On top of all that, his brother also joined the club Tadcaster Albion this month. His name? Romario. Hopefully, like his brother, he can prove himself worthy of the name.
