The England international had been in fine form, before suffering a nasty knee injury a year ago.
Danny Rose of Tottenham Hotspur leaves the field injured during the Premier League match v Sunderland
A year ago today Tottenham Hotspur were dealt a massive blow as the best performing left-back in the Premier League was ruled out for a month with a knee problem. Danny Rose damaged his medial ligament against Sunderland and it seemed four weeks on the sidelines was incoming.
However, things turned increasingly sour. He ended up having to undergo surgery on the problem and he was eventually out of action for nearly 10 months.

One year ago he looked like he was on his way to becoming perhaps the best left-back in the world, but how badly has the injury impacted Rose since?
There was, of course, the furore over the summer as he spoke candidly about his problems at Tottenham in August. He was consistently linked with a move away from the club, with Manchester United heavily linked with his signature.
All the while he remained sidelined. After returning to action in October he has played just 11 times and has had to deal with an incredible amount of improvement from his left-back starting berth rival Ben Davies. The Welshman has been excellent this season and Rose is undoubtedly struggling to usurp him.

He has just been on the treatment table again with another knee problem and it would be fair to say, after an excellent 2016, that 2017 is a year Rose would rather forget.
He will hope to play a part in Tottenham’s end of season run-in, especially with a Champions League challenge ongoing, and then feature for England at the World Cup. But whilst everything was clear sailing for Rose a year ago, times have changed. Spurs fans will hope he has a better 2018.
