Danny Rose is now a Tottenham hero. Here’s where it all began…
April 14 is a special day if you are Danny Rose. Not his birthday, but the date his career really took off.
It was on this day in 2010 that Rose scored a sensational long range effort in a memorable 2-1 win over Arsenal.
19-year-old Rose was making his debut, and struck from 30 yards to open the scoring and help Tottenham record their first victory over the Gunners in 20 league fixtures.
It is a moment Rose is still dining out on, as he may never hit a sweeter or more important strike.
His career has really kicked on since, with The Mirror reporting earlier this month that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy values him at £50 million.
Rose’s strike was followed up by a goal from Gareth Bale, with Nicklas Bendtner scoring a consolation for the Gunners. The result effectively ended Arsenal’s title hopes that year, with Chelsea going onto win the league.
