According to Liam Keen, Wolves are now considering a move for Nuno Espirito Santo to replace Bruno Lage.
Nuno could return to Wolves
Well, this story just won’t seem to go away.
Just hours after the Daily Mail claimed that Nuno would be willing to walk away from Al-Ittihad after just three months in favour of rejoining Wolves, Keen of the Express and Star has now shared some interesting news.
He believes Wolves are considering the 48-year-old as a candidate to replace Lage, despite the fact Fosun actually sacked him as recently as May 2021.
The Daily Mail believe Nuno left Molineux after his relationship with the hierarchy became fractured, so it is very interesting to hear that Fosun are considering a return for the Portuguese tactician.
Those on the board at Molineux are either willing to forgive and forget, or they really are getting desperate.
Keen adds that Wolves are set to meet a number of candidates over the next few days – which presumably includes Nuno – before making a final decision once all talks have concluded.
Who Wolves have already spoken to as Nuno rumour intensifies
As far as we know, Wolves have already spoken to a few managers.
The Telegraph believe Rob Edwards – who was sacked by Watford last month – has been interviewed, while Julen Lopetegui was also spoken to after leaving Sevilla in recent weeks.
Interestingly, Edwards actually worked as interim boss at Wolves back in 2016 after Walter Zenga was sacked, having also played for the Old Gold from 2004 to 2008 – Paul Lambert then took over on a permanent basis.

However, the Spaniard has decided against joining Wolves, and will now take a short break from football for family reasons – according to the Shropshire Star.
Despite strong links to the vacancy, the Shropshire Star add that Pedro Martins is not currently being considered.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Wolves are expected to make a decision soon.
