Tottenham Hotspur striker target Arkadiusz Milik will be sold if he does not want to stay at Napoli, Partenopei sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has admitted to Sky Italia over the weekend.

With Spurs still scouring the market for a man capable of easing the goalscoring burden on star man and captain Harry Kane, this rangy targetman might just be the perfect solution to a five-year long problem.

Not only is Milik a reliable goalscorer, he is also capable of leading the line by himself or working as an effective front two. He has impressed playing alongside, rather than instead of, Robert Lewandowski in the Polish national team.

According to CalcioNews24, Tottenham and north London neighbours Arsenal are both fans of the ex-Ajax star, who is valued at £40 million (ArenaNapoli).

And with Milik set to become a free agent in the summer of 2021 as it stands, Giuntoli has now made Napoli’s stance clear as the Italian giants look to avoid losing a top-class striker for absolutely nothing.

“The desire is to renegotiate his contract, so we are talking with his agents. The objective is to resolve the situation, one way or another. If he doesn’t want to remain, then he will go on to the transfer market,” Giuntoli bluntly explains.

“Players can remain as long as they do so with the right mentality. Napoli will go forward, with or without Milik.”

Milik scored 20 goals for Napoli last season and has another 12 to his name in 2019/20. He also found the back of the net for fun at Ajax, breaking the 20-goal barrier in each of his seasons in Amsterdam.
