Queens Park Rangers target Sorba Thomas has been placed on the transfer list and is likely to be sold in January, Boreham Wood chairman Danny Hunter has told London News Online.
In Macauley Bonne, there’s already one former non-league hotshot leading the line at Loftus Road.
QPR’s new number seven was firing Leyton Orient back into the big time as recently as two years ago and, after catching the eye 30 miles down the M25, the highly rated Thomas could soon be following in Bonne’s footsteps in west London.
Last month, the Daily Mail reported Mark Warburton’s side had been watching the one-time West Ham youngster closely.
And while the window is closed for now, Boreham Wood are already planning to cash in on their prized asset in January.
“The club has sat down with Sorba today and we’ve all aired things honestly and sensibly,” Hunter explains.
“As such, we’ve all agreed we will put him on the transfer list with immediate effect. That way, we can then see if there is wider interest and take it from there.
“There’s now ten weeks before the window reopens and, if any interested parties firstly match our very reasonable valuation, then Sorba and his advisers can explore whether the interested club is for them.”
A right-sided flyer capable of playing at full-back or on the wing, Thomas has plenty of admirers in the Football League.
Hunter admitted to London News Online over the weekend that Charlton Athletic, the club who took a punt on Bonne in 2018, had seen a bid rejected, while suggesting Sunderland, Portsmouth and Middlesbrough could come calling.
