Speaking on the Que Golazo Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has been talking about Renato Sanches and a possible transfer away from Lille.
The Portuguese midfielder has been linked to the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool in the past, and Romano has claimed that we should keep an eye on both of those clubs along with Barcelona in the future.
Indeed, the journalist says that he’s sure that each of those clubs maintain an interest in Sanches, although everything is quiet on that front right now.
What’s Romano said?
The journalist was asked about a potential move to Arsenal for Sanches.
“I can’t say no at the moment because we’re only in February. At the moment Arsenal are not in negotiations with Renato and his agents or with Lille, so at the moment, the situation is still quiet. Last summer, in 2021, Arsenal, Barcelona and Liverpool were three clubs seriously interested in Renato Sanches, so keep them on the list, because Renato Sanches is the kind of player that you keep on your list in the long-term, he’s not a panic buy, he’s a player you have as a key midfielder for the present and the future, so I’m sure that he’s still on the list of all three clubs,” Romano said.

One to watch
It seems as though this is one to watch, particularly from an Arsenal point of view.
The Gunners definitely need a new midfielder through the door this summer. Granit Xhaka could be on his way to Roma, Mohamed Elneny’s contract is up, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles could also be on his way.
The London club could soon be very light in the midfield, and the addition of Sanches, who has previously been labelled as ‘fantastic’ could alleviate those concerns.
As for Liverpool, this would be a luxury signing, but as the signing of Luis Diaz showed, if the Reds see an opportunity to improve their squad, they will take it.
