Some Tottenham fans on social media have been drooling over Nile John after his pre-season performance against Colchester United.

Spurs ran out 3-0 winners against Colchester on Wednesday evening, and while Dele Alli, Lucas Moura and Heung-Min Son got the goals, it was John who was picking up the most praise online.

The midfielder came on at half-time and it’s fair to say he caught the eye, barely putting a foot wrong and making a number of clever passes and runs.

Of course, the midfielder was only playing against Colchester, but it’s always so easy to get carried away when you see a young player impressing in pre-season.

Tottenham supporters online were quick to praise John, with one fan even claiming that he’s just as big a prospect as Dane Scarlett, who has been labelled as one of the next big things at Spurs.
