Tony Adams has told Stadium Astro that Mikel Arteta ruined Bukayo Saka’s confidence by playing him in the wrong position at Arsenal.
Saka has played in multiple different roles in Arsenal’s squad, with his versatility usually seen as a key asset.
But Adams feels that the youngster needs to be given a defined role in Arsenal’s team.
And he warned that Arteta already knocked Saka’s confidence by playing him at left-back.
“You brought in Tierney, play him left-back. You’ve got him playing left-sided centre-half, left wing back, what’s his position,” Adams questioned.
“It’s the same with Saka. We played him left-back a couple of times and he got absolutely roasted.
“The kid’s confidence just went on the floor. You have to get his position, stick him in and teach him, or they don’t improve.
“You’ve got one here. He’s a great prospect, Arsenal through and through, we need to look after him and make him better.”
Saka has been one of the few positives to come out of this season for Arsenal.

The teenager has turned into one of the Gunners’ key players, and he is arguably the most creative influence in their team now.
Saka’s best form has generally come when playing in attacking role, but he has the capabilities to play in a number of different positions.
Arteta has used him all the way down the left-hand side and in central midfield during his time in charge so far.
Saka could feature again this evening, when Arsenal take on Manchester City in the League Cup.
