Rio Ferdinand has raved about Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard on Twitter while watching him in action against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The former Manchester United defender was hugely impressed by a piece of skill that Odegaard showed in the 20th minute of the match between Brighton and Arsenal.
The Norway international playmaker produced some great trickery with the ball inside the Brighton box to slip through his Arsenal teammate Brazil international forward Gabriel Martinelli on goal.
However, Martinelli’s low ball across the face of goal was cleared.
Rio Ferdinand on Martin Odegaard skill for Arsenal v Brighton and Hove Albion

Excellent player
In our opinion, Martin Odegaard is one of the best playmakers around, and he is only 24.
The £85,000-a-week (The Mirror) Arsenal player is one of the first names on manager Mikel Arteta’s teamsheet when he is fit and available.
The former Real Madrid attacking midfielder is brilliant on the ball and has exquisite vision.
Oh, he works hard as well.
And this season Odegaard is scoring goals.
The playmaker is flourishing in this dynamic and hard-working Arsenal team, who could end up winning the Premier League title this season.
