Manchester City striker Erling Haaland did consider moving to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the summer of 2022, according to his father Alfie Haaland in a new documentary Haaland: The Big Decision on ViaPlay.
As transcribed by The Telegraph, Haaland’s father and former Manchester City player Alfie said in the documentary that when they looked at potential clubs for the youngster, Liverpool were on their list but further down.
The 22-year-old striker moved to defending Premier League champions Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022.
City paid Dortmund £51 million in transfer fees and are paying £400,000 per week as salary to Haaland, according to The Telegraph.

Alfie Haaland said before the decision was eventually made: “On our list, I think City is the best team. [Bayern] Munich is number two.

“We have Real Madrid as number three, Paris Saint-Germain as number four.
“We also have some English teams other than City who are quite good – Liverpool and Chelsea. Also, there is Barcelona. They are sort of in the same row.”
Instant impact in the Premier League
Erling Haaland has made an instant impact at Manchester City and has hit the ground running in the Premier League, and Liverpool fans will wonder what if the 22-year-old had moved to Anfield instead.
The Norway international striker has scored 11 goals and provided one assist in seven Premier League appearances for the Citizens so far this season.
Haaland has scored three gals in two UEFA Champions League games for City so far this campaign.
