Young Glasgow Rangers striker Ryan Hardie is making a good impression on his latest spell away from Ibrox.

He joined Livingston last month and has now netted two goals in successive games.

But perhaps the most striking note from a Rangers perspective was that his latest goal was set up by fellow Rangers loanee Jordan Thompson.

Thompson provided the cross for Hardie to head home as Livingston beat Falkirk 3-1 at the weekend.

For Rangers it is a partnership to watch closely over the coming months, as it is likely to benefit both players, not just now but on their return to Ibrox.

Both players have spent most of their professional careers to date out on loan. This is Hardie’s fourth loan spell at just 20-years-old. It is by far his best start to date.

Former Manchester United trainee Jordan Thompson has not featured for Rangers’ first team since Mark Warburton was in charge, and at 21 he is on his third loan spell away from the club.

Both players know they need to make a big impression on loan if they are to stand a chance of getting into the Rangers first team.

Together they might just be beginning to form the kind of partnership which could give them a chance.
