Birmingham City signed Lukas Jutkiewicz on loan from Burnley in August.

Birmingham’s on-loan striker Lukas Jutkiewicz responded to questions regarding his future with the Midlands side, sharing how he will consider his options doing the international break, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.

The 27-year-old joined the Blues on a four-month loan from Burnley on the penultimate day of the summer transfer window, and has gone on to score five goals in 11 league outings for Gary Rowett’s men.

The Birmingham boss shared recently how his club have an option to buy the Burnley man in January (Birmingham Mail), and when asked about the potential of a permanent deal at St Andrews, Jutkiewicz responded:

“I’m not 100 per cent sure what the ins and outs of this so-called option is. From my point of view I just wanted to go and play football and let the rest sort itself out. The manager’s been very good in indicating that he’d be very keen in making it permanent. The international break is a time for people to sit down and talking about situations, but for me it’s just brilliant to be playing football.”

Birmingham made a solid start to their 2016/17 Championship campaign, and currently sit just one place outside the play-off spots, despite being without a win in their last three outings.

Jutkiewicz, who has been an integral part of their impressive start to the season, had not scored a goal since May 2014 before he made the switch to St Andrews.

That goal-drought was largely due to a long-term injury lay-off though, and Rowett has given him the platform to rebuild his career with the opportunity of regular first-team football.

Whether a permanent moves comes to fruition or not remains to be seen.
