Martin Keown blasted Arsenal duo Willian and Nicolas Pepe on talkSPORT for being ‘on holiday’ and not really being interested in the cause.

Both have had abject starts to the season for Arsenal and have played their part in the club languishing in the bottom half of the table.

An aggressive natured defender during his playing days, who would ensure training was tougher than matchday for his teammates, you can bet your bottom dollar that someone like Keown wouldn’t have put up with the rubbish that is being displayed in North London, at the minute.

There were two players, in particular, that seem to wind up the Highbury legend, as he warned the Gunners that they are in ‘free for all’.

“Pepe’s wandering around, it doesn’t seem as if he’s really interested,” said Keown. “Willian’s on holiday.

“You are going to have to bring this group together. He’s going to have to pick the players that he can rely upon. The senior players. And then a bulk of young kids onto that.

“At the moment, it feels like the club is in free for all.”

Arsenal were a sinking ship way before Mikel Arteta joined the crew, but the problem is that he didn’t bring any life jackets and has instead brought tools that they cannot use.

As a result, he is sinking along with the club and he will be let loose sooner rather than later because he has added to the problems rather than ease them.

In truth, the bigger problems lie with those tasked to run the ship and the absent owner – Stan Kroenke – because until they leave the ship it will continue to sink to depths never seen by Arsenal supporters before.
