Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Watford confirmed the signing of Fenerbahçe midfielder Özan Tufan.
What’s the story?
Well, some Crystal Palace fans seem to think that Will Hughes may now be moving to Selhurst Park after Fabrizio Romano broke the news.
Funnily enough, the Eagles have been linked with Tufan for many years.
The 63-cap Turkey international even travelled to the airport to fly to south London, although Crystal Palace pulled the plug at the last minute.
Goal quote Tufan as saying: “Crystal Palace had showed a real interest in me a few years back and I nearly signed for them. We even had our plane tickets to England. But right before the day we planned to fly to England, Crystal Palace’s Bakary Sako got injured.
“The board had an emergency meeting and they decided to sign a replacement for him. So my move failed. They signed Alexander Sorloth instead.”
Now, the Selhurst Park faithful think a new face could be on their way to SE25, after Tufan teamed up with Xisco at Vicarage Road.
It has been said that Crystal Palace bid £5m for Hughes, although Watford want £12m for their No.19.
Is Will Hughes likely to join Crystal Palace?

In our view, Hughes will join Patrick Vieira’s side – eventually.
The 26-year-old is currently training with Watford’s Under-23 side, after refusing a new contract at Vicarage Road.
As The Athletic state, it’s now a case of Hughes and the Hornets repairing their relationship, or him being sold if a good offer arrives.
Clearly, Watford didn’t think £5m was good enough, although they can’t expect to get much more for a player whose contract is set to expire.

£12m is a ridiculous asking price, given the circumstances.
In our view, this deal will get done on deadline day.
For now, let’s see what the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter have been saying about Romano’s tweet on Tufan…
