Plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans think that Joe Rodon could be on his way out in January now, after he was left out against Brentford yesterday.
On the way out?
Rodon did not feature in Tottenham’s squad at all last night, with Antonio Conte not even putting him on the bench.
His only appearance since Conte arrived at Spurs was against NS Mura, in a game where Tottenham suffered a disastrous defeat.
Even in that game Rodon was hooked off before the hour mark, with Eric Dier coming on to replace him.
The signs are not looking particularly great for Rodon ahead of the January transfer window.
And many Spurs fans think the writing may well be on the wall for the £15 million (Daily Mail) centre-back now.
Bad omens?
Football London claim that Rodon has been told that he is competing with Dier for a place in Tottenham’s team now.
If that is the case then his chances of playing seem limited, as Dier has been Tottenham’s best central defender so far this season.
It may be slightly harsh on Rodon that he isn’t featuring more though.
The Tottenham man has actually barely put a foot wrong when he has been given a chance, but it is now four managers who haven’t fancied him.
And questions have to be asked whether sticking around and suffering with limited minutes or going elsewhere will be best for his career.
