Jamie O’Hara has urged Tottenham Hotspur to keep Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg at the club this summer.

The former Tottenham player thinks that the hard-hitting midfielder is ‘one of our best players’ and he also feels that he was ‘really good’ last season, as he told Sky Sports News (13/08/23).

On Sunday, Tottenham recorded a 2-2 draw against Brentford, in what was a new-look Spurs side that played an attacking brand of football.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was on the bench and he was an unused substitute, with Oliver Skipp, James Maddison and Yves Bissouma starting instead.

There is talk that the Denmark international could be headed for the exit door this summer – he was signed from Southampton by Jose Mourinho.

But O’Hara wants the 28-year-old to stay put because he thinks that he can become a key member of Tottenham’s side under Postecoglou.

“I like Hojbjerg, I don’t know what the situation is with him,” said O’Hara. “I actually think he is one of our best players.

“Last season, I thought he was really good for us. Maybe he is on his way out.”

Tottenham should move on from Hojbjerg

If Postecoglou doesn’t see him as part of his plans, then it’s best that they sell him on and get any money they can for him.

There is no doubt that, when he is at his best, he is an undervalued player and that unsung hero in the middle of the pitch.

But given his status at Spurs now, and the fact that the team isn’t in Europe, then they should move him on because there are fewer games for him to try and get his place back.
