Gary Lineker lavished praise on to Dan Burn as Newcastle United emerged with a 4-1 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The former Barcelona striker was complimentary of the £13 million man (Sky Sports) on Twitter, as he got on the scoresheet for the Magpies on Thursday night.
Not just Dan Burn but even Eddie Howe was lauded by Gary Lineker as Newcastle United made light work of Brighton & Hove Albion.
Gary Lineker raves about Dan Burn as Newcastle beat Brighton
The versatile defender headed the ball home to make it 2-0 to the hosts at St. James’ Park, courtesy of a peach of a delivery from Kieran Trippier.
The boyhood Magpies supporter was left free in the box, as he scored a crucial goal that could play a key role in his side potentially securing Champions League qualification.
Gary Lineker praised Dan Burn after his strike, with Newcastle eventually putting in an emphatic display to dispatch Brighton.

“2-0 to Newcastle United. Burn is on fire”, he simply commented.
Perhaps that was an attempt at both a pun, which is vintage Lineker online as well a chance to laud one of the league’s most underrated players.
Dan Burn deserves a lot more credit for his performances this season
It is nice to witness Gary Lineker single Dan Burn out for praise, as the usual suspects at Newcastle such as Bruno Guimaraes and Callum Wilson would likely have walked away with all the rave reviews after their win against Brighton.
Amidst the brilliance of Eddie Howe, Bruno Guimaraes’ magnificence in midfield, Alexander Isak’s irresistible flair and Kieran Trippier’s completeness, the English defender has often gone under the radar.
And that is despite playing out of position as a left-back.
Many would have doubted Burn’s ability to sustain his impressive form in the role, despite him having performed there at Brighton.
However, Dan Burn has continued to do so and deserves a lot more props for what has been a brilliant campaign from him.
